John 9.1-12; 35-41 - Steve McGuire
I am amazed and sometimes frustrated by the endless movement of church life. From week to week and month to month, many of the crises (illness, death, relationship issues, etc.) continue. We just seem to change the names every once in a while. But I know that blessings (health, healing, restoration, peace) continue in much the same way. God is able to lead us through times of trouble to the experience of his grace in fresh new ways.
With this in mind, I remind you that our journey through Lent guides us as it maps out an otherwise confusing way for us. It will ever lead us to follow Jesus, to learn from him, to learn about him. It will take us all the way to his cross where he selflessly dies, bringing the mission of God to a climax. It will not leave us there but will draw us to his empty tomb, where we behold him in his risen glory.
Without his story, our story makes little sense. But you and I have the opportunity to look over his story again and find the connecting links. Through him, we can see and experience the pieces coming together to make complete and whole the work of God in us.
