On the church calendar, Easter is not only an event.  Easter is a season.  It covers the seven Sundays between the bodily resurrection of Jesus and the coming of the Spirit at Pentecost.  This season parallels the period of time after the resurrection in which Jesus repeatedly made appearances to the believers.  They knew without question that he was alive.  The season of Easter helps us in one other way.  It helps us focus on the Easter light and truth.  Namely, we learn how to live the resurrected life.  The New Testament says plenty about this and so there is much digging to do.  If Christ has risen in you, you will want to study and pray and pursue the way of living his new life in the world.
