We respond differently to transitions.  Some of us approach them with trepidation and caution.  Others race toward them and freely embrace them.  Transitions can come by surprise and add tension to life.  Or we may be waiting for and planning a transition that will bring a time of rest.  It is good to know that God is not only a God of the familiar—God of the settled and predictable.  He is also the God of surprises—the God of new things.  He walks the quiet well worn pathways and also the rocky cliffs and dark valleys.  For his people, he always will be, the God who is with us.
